Taylor, a native of Kelso, was associated in the C. A. Taylor and Sons logging operation. It was reported that, Taylor was struck by a cable and suffered a serious leg fracture, severe shock and much loss of blood. He was taken to Ariel, where he was given emergency treatment by Dr. C. J. Hoffman of Woodland and then rushed to a hospital in Longview. He was active in civic affairs and was a member of the Longview Lodge of Perfection and the Kelso Masonic Blue Lodge. His father, the late C. A. Taylor, was an early day logging and sawmill operator in this county and he had followed in the Industry. Taylor was an outstanding athlete at Kelso high school and maintained a keen interest in sports in the community throughout the years. Survivors include the widow Helen M. Taylor; a daughter, Jane R., and a son, McNulty Alfred Taylor, the second; fours sisters, Mrs. Byron M. Oyster of Tacoma, Mrs. Eugene Roehm of Seaside, Mrs. Irvin D. Smith of Seattle and Mrs. W. G. Mullens of Longview; and six brothers, Earl of Longview, Donald of Portland and John B, Frank A., Bill E., and Clarence A. all in the navy. Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 17, at 2 p.m. at the Longview Community Church with Rev. E. J. Gebert, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the Kelso Odd Fellows cemetery. The Ditlevsen Funeral Home is in charge.
