She passed away at the Fillmore County hospital in Geneva on July 7, 1965, at the age of 83 years, 10 months and 5 days. She spent her entire life in York and Fillmore counties. Will O’Brien passed away February 24, 1952, on their... Read More	O’BRIEN, MEDA KATHERINE—Meda Katherine Flynn was born near Lushton, Neb., in York county September 2, 1881, to John and Hannah Flynn. She passed away at the Fillmore County hospital in Geneva on July 7, 1965, at the age of 83 years, 10 months and 5 days. She spent her entire life in York and Fillmore counties. February 24, 1903, she was united in marriage to William Patrick O’Brien at St. Helena’s Catholic Church in Grafton, Neb. To their home came one adopted son, Bernard John O’Brien. Will O’Brien passed away February 24, 1952, on their 49th wedding anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. O’Brien resided on a farm northwest of Geneva until Mr. O’Brien’s death, after which time Mrs. O’Brien moved to Geneva and resided there until she moved to the Fairmont Nursing home in October, 1962. June 26, 1965 she entered the Fillmore County hospital, where she passed away. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Timothy and Vincent Flynn and two sisters, Amber Flynn Lynch and Nell Flynn Kadlec O. C. S. officiating: Rosary Marie O’Brien. She leaves to mourn her passing one son, Bernard and daughter-in-law, Bessie O’Brien, one granddaughter Madeline and husband, John Lowe, and one great-granddaughter, Teresa Lowe, all of Fairmont; one sister, Agatha Flynn of Colorado Springs, Col., six nieces; other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held July 10 at St. Helen’s Catholic church at Grafton with Father Thomas was held at St. Helen’s church Friday evening, July 9. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. Pallbearers were Thomas Keenan, Leo Hoarty, James O’Brien, Rhinehart Everts, Melvin Ralston and Wayne Barnell. The Nebraska Signal July 8th, 1965 page 1.
