Her funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004, at First Baptist Church, 1500 E. Melgaard Road, with Dr. Harold E. Salem officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 12 noon-7 p.m., Wednesday, at Miller-Huebl Funeral Home, 1111 S. Main St., Aberdeen, and for hour prior to the service at the church. Preszler, 98, of Aberdeen died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2004, at her son's residence in Aberdeen. Her funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004, at First Baptist Church, 1500 E. Meletta Rosetta Fischer was born March 18, 1905, in Campbell County, near Artas, S.D., to Fred W. and Rosina (Kautz) Fischer. This is the area where she attended school and grew to adulthood. She married Julius William Preszler on Feb. 25, 1926, near Eureka, S.D. They made their first home on a farm near Eureka. In 1936 they left farming and moved to Leola, where Julius worked for the W.P.A. In January of 1943, they moved to Aberdeen, where Julius was employed with the City of Aberdeen. They loved children and opened a day care in Aberdeen. They continued to live in Aberdeen until 1973, when they moved to Norfolk, Va., where they lived with family. Julius died Oct. 30, 1978. Meletta moved to Aberdeen in January of 1980, where she continued to live until her death. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, V.F.W. Auxiliary and the Women of the Moose, all in Aberdeen. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and loved watching TV, especially the soap opera, "As The World Turns." She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two daughters, Viona Preszler and Viola Hatzenbeller, six brothers, five sisters, one grandchild, two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Active casketbearers will be Ricky Preszler, Telfineus Preszler, Jr., James Preszler, Mario Preszler, Michael Preszler, and Alan Hatzenbeller. Honorary casketbearers will be all her grandchildren.
