Description	:	On Feb. 24, 1884, at her home in Burgess, Clinton County, Iowa, of paralysis of the heart, Mrs. Melissa Burwell. Deceased was born at Penn Yan, Yates county, New York, March 12th, 1829, and iwth her paernts, J.B. and A.R. Beers, moved to Lucerne, Knox county, Ohio, in the year 1833, and to Darlington, Wis., in the year 1853, and wsa married to Jacob Burwell June 5th 1862 and moved to Burgess, Clinton County, Iowa. Read More	On Feb. 24, 1884, at her home in Burgess, Clinton County, Iowa, of paralysis of the heart, Mrs. Melissa Burwell. Deceased was born at Penn Yan, Yates county, New York, March 12th, 1829, and iwth her paernts, J.B. and A.R. Beers, moved to Lucerne, Knox county, Ohio, in the year 1833, and to Darlington, Wis., in the year 1853, and wsa married to Jacob Burwell June 5th 1862 and moved to Burgess, Clinton County, Iowa. Mrs. Burwell experienced religion at the age of about twelve years, and united with the Zion Baptist church, in which she lived a consistent Christian life, and was a member of the Baptist church, of Monmonth, Iowa at her death. She was blessed with five children; all were girls, of which three survive her. Her remains were followed to the tomb by a large concourse of relatives, friends and neighbors.
