Gorby, 33, Short Street, passed away Tuesday afternoon, March 13, 2012 from injuries sustained in a two vehicle accident just north of the village on State Route 170. Melissa was born December 11, 1978, in East Liverpool, a daughter of Vickie L. Hughes Gorby Bigley and the late Frank S. Gorby, and had resided in the Negley area for most of her life. Gorby, 33, Short Street, passed away Tuesday afternoon, March 13, 2012 from injuries sustained in a two vehicle accident just north of the village on State Route 170. Melissa was born December 11, 1978, in East Liverpool, a daughter of Vickie L. Hughes Gorby Bigley and the late Frank S. Gorby, and had resided in the Negley area for most of her life. She had most recently been employed with Comfort Keepers. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Tom and Ruth Hughes. Besides her mother, Vickie L. Bigley, of Negley, she is survived by a son, Jeremy Gorby; her step-father, Kenneth Bigley, Jr.; two sisters, Brenda Pyles, East Palestine, and Margie Bigley, Darlington, PA; a brother, Keith Bigley, Negley; and several nieces and nephews, Franki Jack and Onya Gishbaugher, both of East Palestine, Joshlyn Jack, New Waterford, and Lily Bigley, Columbiana. The family will receive friends at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, with a service at the conclusion of calling hours with Rev. Randy Clark of the Union Ridge Bible Baptist Church, officiating. The family has asked that material tributes take the form of contributions to the funeral home, to assist in defraying the funeral expenses. The family will receive friends at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 16th.
