She married Roy A. Ross on Aug. 17, 1953, at St. John's Catholic Church, Placid, rural Epworth. She was a graduate of the former Epworth High School. Melita was employed as a cook at the Divine Word Seminary in Epworth for 17 years . She was a member of St. Patrick's Parish in Epworth, a member of its Altar and Rosary Society, and a member of TOPS 115 for 32 years. Surviving are six children, Jerry (Susan) Ross, Sandy Ross and Rick "Roscoe" Ross, all of Epworth, Marvin "Mel" Ross and Vicki (Steve) Braak, both of Dallas, and Lynne (Duane) Worden, of Blossom, Texas; nine grandchildren, Tony, Adam, Alex, Sam and Evan Ross, Meghan and Mackenzie Braak, and Elizabeth and Emily Worden; a brother, Donald (Margaret) Koopmann, of Epworth; three sisters, Inez Silker and Jean (Francis) Oberfoell, both of Epworth, and Grace (Donald) Droeszler, of Bernard; two sisters-in-law, Rosie Koopmann, of Delhi, and Marilyn Holman, of Kentucky; and a brother-in-law, Merle "Bud" (Jane) Ross, of Dyersville. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy A. Ross on Nov. 27, 2004; a sister, Berniece Kramer; and two brothers, John and Elmer Koopmann. A Melita G.
