Melody was born February 12, 1953 to Fred and Cordelia (Lee) Gorrell in Atchison, Kansas. She was received in to the family of God through the water and Word of Baptism at Trinity Lutheran Church, Atchison on March 17, 1967. Seetin was called to her eternal home in Heaven. Melody was born February 12, 1953 to Fred and Cordelia (Lee) Gorrell in Atchison, Kansas. She was received in to the family of God through the water and Word of Baptism at Trinity Lutheran Church, Atchison on March 17, 1967. After instruction, she publicly confessed the faith into which she was Baptized in the Rite of Confirmation at Trinity Lutheran Church, Atchison on March 19, 1967. Melody attended Trinity Lutheran School and Atchison High School. On June 6, 1970, she was united in marriage to Lee D. Seetin at Trinity Lutheran Church in Atchison and the Lord blessed their union with two daughters. They lived in various places as Lee attended college and Concordia Seminary. She served as a faithful Pastor's wife in Lyons, Kansas, Lincoln, Nebraska, Thayer and Gresham, Nebraska. Melody was a member of the L.W.M.L. and helped where she was needed. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and cooking. She loved her family. Melody is survived by her husband Lee of Gresham; daughters, Laura Seetin of York, and Annette and Scott Wurst of Beaver Crossing, Nebraska. Her grandchildren include, Ethan Kratzer, Erin Kratzer, Colton Wurst and Lily Wurst and one great granddaughter, Marley Pope. Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Melody was preceded in death by her parents and nine brothers and sisters. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 30, 2013 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Gresham with burial in St. Peter Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3-9 p.m. on Wednesday and 9 a.m. -9 p.m. on Thursday, with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday evening at the mortuary. Memorials may be directed to St. Peter Church. Condolences may be emailed to Metz Mortuary Messages will be given to the family.
