Description	:	Son of Clarence & Anna (Lindquist) Thompson. He graduated from York College in 1934 and he went to work for the Woolworth Company. He married Eileen Jokerst at York in August of 1946. Mel joined the Nebraska Army National Guard in 1933 and served in the Air Corps in WWII in the Euopean Theatre. Mel joined the Service Company, 134th Infantry in York in 1947 and retired in 1973. Mel's full-time technician service as an Administrative Supply Technician dated from November 1948 to October 1973. Following his retirement, Mel and Eileen moved to Omaha. Also surviving are special friends, Bill and Mindy Geis and their children Melissa, Tori and Sophie all of Omaha. Preceding him in death were his wife Eileen, parents, brother Maurice and brother-in-law Burton Feaster.
