Description	:	On Sunday night, November 16, 2014 Melvin Birt Brown passed away at Cedarwood Villa. He was born May 8, 1916 in Belfry, to Mary and Birt Brown. He was very proud to be from a large, loving family of 14 kids. All of which are deceased except one. Read More	On Sunday night, November 16, 2014 Melvin Birt Brown passed away at Cedarwood Villa. He was born May 8, 1916 in Belfry, to Mary and Birt Brown. He was very proud to be from a large, loving family of 14 kids. All of which are deceased except one. Melvin attended first grade at Cherry Springs and then moved to Belfry where he graduated in 1935. Melvin enjoyed playing basketball and track. In May of 1944 he married Lillie May Hoke. They were happily married until Lillie passed away in 2002. Melvin enjoyed his family, especially farming and ranching with his boys. Buying and selling livestock and growing sugar beets for 78 years. Melvin thought that the greatest place on Earth was where he lived by the Clarks Fork River. He also enjoyed sharing his tidbits of wisdom and stories of life with his grandchildren. He will be remembered as a loving, kind and generous father and husband, and a devoted, hardworking farmer and rancher. He was a caring grandfather and faithuful friend. He lived a long and enjoyable life. We love and miss you dad, granpa, and great grandpa! The family would like to thank Dr. Fouts, Home Health Care, Beartooth Hospice, the staff at Cedar Villa and his special friend, Sam Coulimore who was with him at the end. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 22, 2014 at the Belfry School Multi-Purpose Room. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the family plot in the Belfry Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the Belfry School Multi-purpose room. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Belfry Mountain View Baptist Church: P.O.Box 48, Belfry, MT 59008.
