Description	:	Melvin C. "Mel" Edaburn, 80, died Thursday March 21, 2013 at St. Lukes Hospital in their Hospice Unit. Services at 2:00 PM on Sunday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories where friends may call after 12:30 PM on Sunday. Private family burial at Campbell Cemetery. Per Mel's' request the casket will be closed at all times. Melvin grew up on the family farm near Toddville. He had a great love for the out of doors. After graduation he served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. Upon discharge he worked 28 years at FMC Link Belt and ten years at Rockwell Goss until retirement.On June 4, 1955 he married Patricia Workman. They were blessed with three children, Dale (Lori), Diana, and David (Mary). Mel is also survived by four grandchildren, Whitney, Jack, and Kirby Edaburn and Chelsea (Andrew) McCallum, a brother Richard and many friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter Diana.In 1971 Melvin was baptized as one of Jehovah's Christian Witnesses and was an active member for 44 years. After his illness he had been rehabbing at Willow Gardens Care Center in Marion. "The family would like to thank the staff for their Care."In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
