Darrell. MELVIN ANDERSON Melvin E. "Andy" Anderson, 65, of 326 Hackworth St. died March 3, 1984, in Ottumwa Hospital. he was born April 27, 1918, in Ottumwa to Ernest and Bertha White Anderson. He married Elenor Swanson on Sept. 29, 1940, at Creston. He retired from Wapello Dairies where he worked for 27 years. He served in the Army during World War II (Nov. 11, 1942 to Nov. 21, 1945) and was a member of the First Lutheran Church and the Disabled American Veterans. He is survived by his mother, Bertha Swasick of Ottumwa; his wife ; a daughter, Karen Anderson of West Covina, Calif.; and a brother, Darrell of San Bernardino, Calif. The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church, the Rev. Ralph Andersen officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery, with full military rites. Pallbearers will be William McClure, Marvin Nelson, Robert Johnson, Dennis Anderson, Douglas Dufek and Louis Bonomo. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Shrine of Memories Funeral Home. The casket will be taken to the church at 11 a.m. Tuesday and closed at the begining of the service. Memorials may be made to the church.
