He was born on February 21, 1937 in Richfield Township, to Otto and Hilda (Kruse) Meienburg. Mel married Mary Beth Snelbaker on February 22, 1975 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon. Mel was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon and a life member of the AMVETS. He worked for Gerken Construction, Miller Bros. Construction and was a part-time farmer. He was born on February 21, 1937 in Richfield Township, to Otto and Hilda (Kruse) Meienburg. Mel married Mary Beth Snelbaker on February 22, 1975 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon. Mel was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon and a life member of the AMVETS. He worked for Gerken Construction, Miller Bros. Construction and was a part-time farmer. He enjoyed tinkering around the home and farm in his spare time, as well as traveling. Mel especially loved to spend time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Mary Beth; sons, Brent (Gretchen), David (Julie) and Matt; grandchildren, Derek, Britney, Brock, Madison, Camden and sister, Lorna Elling. Mel was preceded in death by his parents. Friends and family will be received at the Rodenberger-Gray Funeral Home, Napoleon on Monday, August 31, 2020 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. A private committal service will be held at Riverview Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Henry County Humane Society, or St. Paul Lutheran Church or Schools. Online messages and condolences may be shared with the family at rodenbergergray.com Due to the current health conditions surrounding COVID-19, masks will be required to attend services or visitation in accordance with the State.
