Description	:	Melvin R. Matson was born July 28, 1936, to Ed and Flora (Ramey) Matson at Elgin, NE. Melvin passed away on February 15, 2013 Melvin attended kindergarten to eighth grade in Bassett (NE.) rural school, graduated in 1956 from St. Edward (NE.) High School and in 1958 graduated as an auto body technician from Southeast Community College. Melvin worked in auto body until entering the armed forces in January 1960. To this marriage they had four children, Dave, Bradley, Gregory and Susan. Melvin was active in Neligh (NE.) Jaycees, Neligh (NE.) Chamber of Commerce, was on the Grace Lutheran Church board, helped with Boy Scouts, loved to bowl and collect old coins. Melvin is survived by: wife, Barbara Matson; son, Dave Matson and wife Cathy of Des Moines, Iowa; daughter Susan and husband Shawn O'Toole of Twin Falls, Idaho; granddaughter Amanda Snider and grandson Tyler O'Toole of Twin Falls; brother Warren Matson of Schuyler; many relatives and friends. Melvin was preceded in death by sons, Bradley and Gregory Matson; parents; grandparents and sister-in-law Rose Marie Matson. Burial was in The Rose Hill Cemetery, Albion, NE.
