Description	:	Melvin Gregory Melvin Sherman Gregory passed away June 15, 1991 at Woodbine, IA, after a brief illness. He was born December 17, 1913, in Chester, S.D. His parents were Sherman G. and Sarona (Sisson) Gregory. He came to Logan in the fall of 1928, to make his home with his sister, Rena and her husband Rudolph Koeppen. Read More	Melvin Gregory Melvin Sherman Gregory passed away June 15, 1991 at Woodbine, IA, after a brief illness. He was born December 17, 1913, in Chester, S.D. His parents were Sherman G. and Sarona (Sisson) Gregory. He came to Logan in the fall of 1928, to make his home with his sister, Rena and her husband Rudolph Koeppen. He entered the 8th grade in Logan and graduated in the class of 1933. He completed almost four years of service in the Army during World War II, most of which was spent in the jungles of the South Pacific as a cook and baker. He operated the Three Bears Bakery in Mondovi from May 1963 until April 1977. On August 7, 1960 he was united in marriage to Amy Ann Stern and they lived in Wisconsin until 1977, when they returned to Logan upon their retirement. Survivors include his wife, Amy Ann, of Logan; his daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Norris Erickson, Mondovi; three granddaughters, Lisa, Stevens Point, Laurie and Tracy and her husband Randy Olson and their son, Lance, all of Mondovi; one brother, Grant, Spring Valley, and nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters. Memorials may be given to the First Presbyterian Church in Woodbine, of which he was a member, or the Logan Cemetery Association.
