He was 23, 1 month and 1 day old. He worked with his father, Reuben short, at carpentry and was a very fine mechanic. He was an industrious young man and a favorite in a very large circle of friends because of his intelligence and his kind and obliging disposition. He was a leading member of the cornet band, the military company, the Modern Woodmen and the Select Knights, all of wich organizations attended the funeral and took part in the burial services. Rev. Mr. Taylor of the Baptist church delivered the funeral address at the M.E. church Sunday afternoon assisted by Rev. Allen and Bushneil. The procession was probably the largest ever seen in the city. It reached from the city limits to the cemetery. He became a member of the Woodmen about two years ago and carried $3,000 insurance in favor of his mother. Twelve members of the Woodmen and seven Select Knights from the Clyde lodges attended the funeral.
