Miss Mena Bobb, of David City, passed away at her home Sunday, April 20. She had been ill for about three weeks with bronchial catarrh previous to her death. Miss Bobb was born in Snyder county, Pa., on June 5, 1845. A good share of her girlhood life was spent in Stephenson county, Ill. In the year 1877 she came to Butler county, Nebraska, to reside in the home of her brother-in-law, D. B. Armagost, to be a mother to his children, whose own mother had recently passed away. She had lived with the Armagost family for 42 years, moving to David City with them in 1890. When a young woman she united with the Lutheran church in Stephenson county, Ill., and later transferred her membership to the Lutheran church in David City. While in later years, owing to her health, she could not often attend church, she was always interested in religious activities and at time of her death belonged to the home department of the Congregational Sunday school. Funeral services were held in the Congregational church Tuesday afternoon, April 22, at 3 o'clock. Rev. William Richards conducted the services and a trio, John Harper, Hugo Hahn and J. M. Rutt, furnished the music. Two nephews, William Armagost and Dr. Joseph Miller, and four nephews-in-law, W. C. Buchta, David Curry, Andrew Glock and Roland Jones, were the pallbearers. Interment was in Pleasant Hill cemetery.
