Description	:	Minnie Rops Nevenhoven, daughter of John Menje Mulder Rops, was born October 12, 1883, in the Netherlands. At the age of 19 years she came to the United States. On April 20, 1903, she was united in marriage to John Nevenhoven. Together they farmed near Aplington until 1941 when they retired and moved to Aplington. Seven children were born to this union, namely: John of Aplington, Jake of Aplington, Minnie, Mrs. Chris Wallerstein of Aplington; Charles of Grundy Center, Susie, Mrs. John Reints of Ackley, Hilko of Aplington; and Peter who died at the age of six. In 1916,... Read More	Minnie Rops Nevenhoven, daughter of John Menje Mulder Rops, was born October 12, 1883, in the Netherlands. At the age of 19 years she came to the United States. On April 20, 1903, she was united in marriage to John Nevenhoven. Together they farmed near Aplington until 1941 when they retired and moved to Aplington. Seven children were born to this union, namely: John of Aplington, Jake of Aplington, Minnie, Mrs. Chris Wallerstein of Aplington; Charles of Grundy Center, Susie, Mrs. John Reints of Ackley, Hilko of Aplington; and Peter who died at the age of six. In 1916, Mrs. Nevenhoven became a member of Washington Reformed Church near Ackley where she attended regularly. In 1931 she transferred her membership to the First Reformed Church of Aplington where she maintained it until the time of her death. After a short illness Minnie died January 8,1967. She was preceded in death by her husband one son, Peter; her parents; four sisters, and three brothers. She is survived by one sister, Dena, Mrs. Jerry Kramer of Shell Rock; and two brothers, Rev. John Rops of Lenox, South Dakota, and Harm Rops of Parkersburg; six children; nine grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren. Services were held Thursday afternoon in the First Reformed Church of Aplington. Interment was in the Washington Reformed Cemetery, northeast of Ackley.
