Randy Goeke officiating. Inurnment will take place in the O’Neill Cemetery. There will be no visitation the evening prior to the service. Menna Naldera Meyler was born on January 13, 1924 in the village of Laugharne, South Wales, Great Britain. She joined the Navy, Army, and Air Force Institutes, referred to as NAAFI, an organization created by the British Government to run recreational institutions needed by the armed forces. Menna met Albert Derickson during World War II in South Wales, Great Britain. They were married in the Church of England on August 21, 1945. Al was Honorably Discharged in November of 1945, but Menna didn’t get to join him in the United States until March 1946. They made their home on a farm in Holt County, Nebraska. To this union, two children were born, Greg and Pam. The couple retired and moved to O’Neill 1976. Menna is survived by her daughter, Pam Kathol and her husband, Cliff, of Lenexa, Kansas; two grandchildren, Kim Robbins and husband, Justin, of Lenexa, and their children, Caden, Addison, and Brooklyn, and Jay Kathol of Council Bluffs and his children, Alivia, Preston, Beau, and Eden. Menna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Al, in 2003; and her son, Greg, in 1990. (biglinmortuary.com/obituary)
