Meralda was born November 20, 1925 in Sherrill, the daughter of Henry and Laura (Koltes) Nauman. She married Leon Rolwes , and he preceded her in death on February 20, 1952. On February 22, 1954, she married Clem McGovern at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, and he preceded her in death on September 11, 1991. She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church for many years. Meralda was active with the Tri State Antique Car Club, and enjoyed socializing with the John Deere Retirees. She was a homemaker for much of her life, and was devoted to feeding and taking care of others. Meralda enjoyed bowling, sewing and embroidery, and gardening. After her children were grown and her husband passed away, Meralda discovered many things in the world outside the home. She was always ready to go out to eat, and also enjoyed traveling. She was very active at Sunset Park Place. Those left to honor her memory include her children, Don (Julie) McGovern of Dubuque, Terry (Betty) McGovern of Dubuque, Ron (Janet) Rolwes of California, and Marlene (Steve) Golinvaux of Cedar Rapids; 11 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; two siblings, Merlin (Pat) Nauman of Sherrill, and Charlene Riniker of New Vienna; and a sister in law, Yvonne Nauman of Sherrill. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; a brother, Gerald Nauman; and a brother in law, Otto Riniker. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Meralda M. McGovern Memorial Fund. The family would like to thank the personnel and residents at Sunset Park Place. Meralda enjoyed you all so much.
