She departed this life on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at the Henderson Community Hospital in Henderson, Nebraska at the age of 74 years. Read More	Meredith Joyce Moore, the daughter of Peter George and Edith Christine (Klein) Sterkel was born December 24, 1932 at the family farm in Clay County, Nebraska. She departed this life on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at the Henderson Community Hospital in Henderson, Nebraska at the age of 74 years. As a young girl Meredith attended Rock School in Clay County and Stone School in Nuckolls County and graduated from Edgar High School in 1940. She furthered her education by attending Kearney State Teacher's College. On January 15, 1951 Meredith was united in marriage to Monte "Pat" Moore at the home of her parents 6 miles south of Edgar. This union was blessed with the birth of three children; two daughters and a son. Meredith had taught rural school for one year becoming a partner in her husband's business, Pat's Plumbing, Heating and Electric in Edgar. Meredith was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. In her spare time Meredith enjoyed reading, sewing and baking. She had been a member of the Leisure Village Board and was the corresponding secretary of the Edgar Alumni Association since 1976. She had also been a Girl Scout leader and Sunday school teacher. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband Pat Moore on August 23, 2003. Survivors include her daughters: Jacqueline Cox & husband Gaylen of Oak, NE; Christine DeVore & husband Larry of Edgar, NE; son Denis Moore & wife Kathy of Edgar, NE; brother Darwin Sterkel & wife Sandra of Edgar, NE; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held Friday, May 18, 2007 at the Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Edgar, NE. with Pastor Steve Matthews officiating. Burial took place in the Edgar Cemetery, Edgar.
