Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, at the Mullen Funeral HOme in Adair, with Rev. Tom Hobson officiating. She was married to George Rater in Greenfield Jan. 10, 1923, and they farmed in Cass and Adair counties until moving to Adair in 1948. She had worked at a nursing home and cleaned at several businesses in Adair over the years. Mrs. Rater was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Adair and the church auxiliary. Surviving are a son. Gary Rater of Adair; a sister, Lola Fistler of Adair; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Russell; one daughter, Jane Ann; one sister, Elise Huss; and one brother, Harley Charles.
