Merle Allan Christensen was born January 12, 1951 in Iowa Falls, Iowa to Volney and Corrine (Bridges) Christensen. He graduated from Iowa Falls High School and received his AA degree from Ellsworth Community College. On September 4, 1969 he joined the Marine Corp and served until August of 1971. Merle Allan Christensen was born January 12, 1951 in Iowa Falls, Iowa to Volney and Corrine (Bridges) Christensen. He graduated from Iowa Falls High School and received his AA degree from Ellsworth Community College. On September 4, 1969 he joined the Marine Corp and served until August of 1971. On October 21, 1995 he was united in marriage to Janet Simpson at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Merle worked at Winnebago Industries for a short time then went to Farmland Foods for thirteen years. Following that he worked at Electrolux in Webster City, Iowa for twenty two years, retiring in 2011. Merle was a simple man who enjoyed life. He liked to play the drums and ride his motorcycle. Above all, he loved to spend time with the grandchildren. He was not one to complain, but always determined. He was preceded in death by his mother, Corrine Christensen. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Saturday, December 5, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church in Iowa Falls. Burial will be at the Union Cemetery, Iowa Falls.
