Description	:	Obituary From "Ottumwa Courier," September 21, 1970: Merle R. Heady, 58, of 1522 Mowrey, died Saturday about 2 p.m. at Martinsburg where he was attending an auction sale. He was born April 27, 1912, in Wapello County, the son of Perry and Grace Crumback Heady. He had lived in Ottumwa for more than 30 years and had operated D-X stations since 1951. Read More	Obituary From "Ottumwa Courier," September 21, 1970: Merle R. Heady, 58, of 1522 Mowrey, died Saturday about 2 p.m. at Martinsburg where he was attending an auction sale. He was born April 27, 1912, in Wapello County, the son of Perry and Grace Crumback Heady. He had lived in Ottumwa for more than 30 years and had operated D-X stations since 1951. He presently was operating a station at Mary Street and Highway 63. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 16, and the Order of Eastern Star, Rose Chapter. He married Reva Nichols on March 31, 1934. She survives. Also surviving are three sons, Walter of Blackfoot, Idaho, Jerry and Richard, both of Ottumwa; one daughter, Mrs. Don Dalbey of Ottumwa; five grandchildren; one brother, Glenn of Mount Vernon, and three sisters, Mrs. Gladys Enyart of Pinedale, Calif., Mrs. Nellie Anderson of Phoenix, Ariz., and Mrs. Jeanne Plock of Fresno, Calif. Three brothers and one sister preceded him in death. The service will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Willard Street United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. James Russell. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. The casket will be taken to the church at 11 a.m. Tuesday from Campbell Funeral Home in Eldon. Pallbearers will be Paul King, Max McDowell, Ora Rose, Hugh Gilliland, Charles Bales and Fritz Berger.
