On Aug 31, 1957, he married Lorna Jean Craig, who preceded him in death. Surviving are two sons: Gregory D. and Bradley D. (Sharon M.), both Lima; a daughter, Rhonda J. (Rodney L.) Wood, Lima; a brother-in-law, Thomas (Cheryl) Craig, Bluffton; a sister-in-law, Donna (Lonnie) Warren, Bluffton; and eight grandchildren. Deceased is a brother linked below. A graduate of LaFayette Jackson High School, he proudly served in the United States Army during WWII. He and his wife worked many years together, running Goodman's Dairy Farm. In 1994, he retired from Procter and Gamble after 23 years of service. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events and spending time with his family. His greatest joy was working alongside his wife and children on the family farm. He was a member of Lima Baptist Temple and was an active member of the Lima community for many years. He served as a 4-H Advisor, was a member of the Allen County Dairy Service Unit, Ohio Guernsey Breeders Association, District 4 Guernsey Association, Allen County Farm Bureau, Board of Directors of the Cairo Elevator, as well as serving on the Bath Township Zoning Appeals Board for 50 years. Services will be at Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Shawnee Chapel, with Pastor Gary Hohman officiating. Burial will follow in Cairo West Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the United States Army and the VFW #1275.
