A memorial gathering will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 27, at the Durant Community Center in Durant. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Marshalltown, Iowa. Merlin Lee Rosfjord was born December 14, 1950, in Marshalltown, the son of Howard and Barbara (Miller) Rosfjord. He graduated from LDF High School in LeGrand in 1969. He graduated from Iowa State University with a bachelor degree in Agronomy in 1973. He married Rebecca L. (Sanders) Murphy on May 25, 2002, in Davenport. He was employed as an agronomist and assistant plant manager for Pioneer Hybrids in Durant, until retiring in 2015. He enjoyed traveling and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan. He loved spending time and visiting with his friends at the Durant Creamery. He is survived by his wife, Becky; two step-daughters, Angela Murphy of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Christina Murphy of Washington DC; two step-sons, Bryan Murphy of Durant and Thomas Murphy of Wilton; his mother, Barbara Rosfjord of Grinnell; one sister, Mary Jo (Kevin) Keith of Coralville; one brother, Steve Rosfjord of LeGrand; and nieces and a nephew.
