On a moody Tuesday morning May 18, 1920, a child was born, this child was given the name Merna Kathleen Rhodenizer. She was a daughter of the late Twining T. and Olive S. Rhodenizer. (From the collection of Linda Marie Bedford) RAMEY, Merna Kathleen (Rhodenizer) - 91, formerly of Bridgewater, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2011, at home in West Northfield. On a moody Tuesday morning May 18, 1920, a child was born, this child was given the name Merna Kathleen Rhodenizer. She was a daughter of the late Twining T. and Olive S. Rhodenizer. Merna lived her entire life in Bridgewater and is the last surviving member of her immediate family. In October 1950 Merna became the wife of Elbert (Ecker) Ramey. She was predeceased by her husband, Ecker, as well as her brothers and sisters. Left to mourn her passing are numerous nieces and nephews. She loved being outdoors and one of her greatest joys was gardening in her yard with her cats by her side. There will be no visitation by request. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, December 3 in Sweeny's Funeral Home, Bridgewater, Rev. Willis Ott officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater. Family flowers only, please. Memorials in Merna's memory may be made to the S.H.A.I.D. Animal Shelter to Palliative Care Department at South Shore Regional Hospital. With thanks to Rosemary Rafuse.
