Peters, following an illness of several months. Funeral services were held there Monday, Jan. 5, and when spring comes the body will be brought back to Edgewood for burial. Mrs. Peters was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles B. Story, Edgewood's first hotel keepers and was born here Dec. 25, 1874. Mrs. Peters is survived by her husband, one son, and one grandson. Peters, a resident of Edgewood for fifty-four years, died at her home in Monrovia, Calif., Dec 31, where the family had gone for her health. Mrs. Peters was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Story, Edgewood's first hotel keepers. She was graduated from the Edgewood high school in the first class. She took a course in music at Upper Iowa University and came home to teach. For a number of years up to September 1929, Mrs. Peters had been a member of the republican central committee of Clayton county. She is survived by her husband, one son, Charles, of Edgewood, one grandson, Arthur Peters of Glendale, Calif., and one sister and one brother of Los Angeles. She was an office holder in the Hiram Steele Relief Corps, the Yeoman Fraternal Association, Order of Eastern Star and in the Methodist Church. The body will be brought back here in the spring for burial in the Edgewood Cemetery.
