Description	:	The following provided by Find A Grave contributor Ed Mosby: Mervin Albert Karr died May 12 at Aspen Gardens, where he had resided for the past two months. Mervin was born on Aug. 24, 1922, to Albert and Mae Karr in Seward, Neb. He grew up in Seward where he met Virginia Morgan. They were married on Dec. 13, 1941. Read More	The following provided by Find A Grave contributor Ed Mosby: Mervin Albert Karr died May 12 at Aspen Gardens, where he had resided for the past two months. Mervin was born on Aug. 24, 1922, to Albert and Mae Karr in Seward, Neb. He grew up in Seward where he met Virginia Morgan. They were married on Dec. 13, 1941. After they married, they farmed until Mervin joined the Army. Mervin drove an ambulance in France and Belgium during World War II. While there, he had his picture taken with the Queen Mother as she was inspecting the troops. After the war, Mervin worked as a lineman for an electric company in Seward. In 1954, the family moved to Dillon. There he worked for Safeway as a meat market manager for the next 37 years. In his spare time, he hunted and fished, his favorite hobbies. In 1995 Mervin and Virginia moved to East Helena to be closer to their son and his family. Mervin is survived by his son, Lynn, his wife, Kathy and their children Kristi (Mike) Freeman, Kim (Greg) Gonsioroski, Kory, Jessica, Joe and Jordan. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren: Katie and Ellie Freeman, and Gabe, Grady and Gracelyn Gonsioroski. His two brothers Dwaine Karr of Lincoln, Neb., and Darrell Karr of Omaha, also survive him. Missing him greatly is his dog and best friend, Bo. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia, and his parents. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 18, at 11 a.m. at the Maranatha Baptist Church, 2526 Lake Helena Drive, East Helena. Military graveside honors will follow at the Montana State Veterans Cemetery at Fort Harrison with the Lewis and Clark Veterans Council officiating. Local arrangements have been entrusted to Hagler-Anderson Funeral Home.
