Description	:	After a long battle with several illnesses, it is with great sadness and regret, that we, the family, announce the passing of our beloved husband and father; Mervin St. Clair Nickerson, Wood's Harbour, Shelburne County, on Tuesday March 4, 2008 in QEII Infirmary, Halifax, who was born to Jeremiah and Ella(Smith)Nickerson, on February 28, 1927. His early working years were spent in the family boat shop until 1968, when he started working on the MV Bluenose as a deckhand and later working his way up to 2nd engineer. Read More	After a long battle with several illnesses, it is with great sadness and regret, that we, the family, announce the passing of our beloved husband and father; Mervin St. Clair Nickerson, Wood's Harbour, Shelburne County, on Tuesday March 4, 2008 in QEII Infirmary, Halifax, who was born to Jeremiah and Ella(Smith)Nickerson, on February 28, 1927. His early working years were spent in the family boat shop until 1968, when he started working on the MV Bluenose as a deckhand and later working his way up to 2nd engineer. He was employed with CN Marine for 25 years, until his retirement in 1992. He spent a lot of his leisure time working in his shed and enjoying the outdoors. Mervin was a member of the Wood's Harbour Wesleyan Church and an active member of the Barrington and Area Ground Search and Rescue. Survived by his wife , the former Crystal Crowell; 4 daughters; 7 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild;6 step grandchildren. Wilma(Clayton Crowell), Krista, Corey, Angelina, Dustin , Donna Malone(Scott Mahaney),Jerica, Asia, Dallas , Nancy Crowell(Shannon Newell), Paula, Robyn, Adrian, Sheree d'Entremont )Dennis, Alexa, Karmen, Kirkland, Katia; 2 sisters, Ivy Swaine, Shag Harbour, Norma Dugas, Yarmouth; 1 sister in law, Mabel Nickerson, Shag Harbour; several nieces and nephews.
