Description	:	Meta Mae Lawson, age 86, of Guysville, died Wednesday morning, Sept. 25, 2013 at Arcadia Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Coolville. Born March 6, 1927 in Shade, she was the daughter of the late Carnel & Catherine Burson Slusher. She attended Shade High School and was a homemaker. She enjoyed bowling, knitting, sewing, crafts and "picking out hickory nuts". Meta is survived by two daughters- Lorie Springer of Guysville and LaDean "Deanie" (Jim) Cogar of Clarksville, Tennessee; seven grandchildren- Kimberly (Jeral) Smith, J.D. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Donald "Doc" Lawson, 2006; a great grandchild, Kimberly LaDean Smith; two brothers- Arthur "Jenks" Slusher and Leslie Slusher. Funeral service will be conducted Saturday 11:00am with Rev. Monte McCune officiating. Burial will be in Burson Cemetery, Shade. Friends may call Friday 4-8pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Mid Ohio Valley Regional Office, 1218 Market St., Parkersburg, WV 26101.
