Denmark Church records show marriage on October 15, 1882. Don't know why newspaper says 1879. Possible that Chris was married before or first marriage was not in the Church and it was done again in the church in 1882. Harlan Tribune - September 15, 1926 Bock Mette Christine Clausen was born in Germany, Sept. 8, 1856 and passed away at her home in Harlan, Sept. 16, 1926 at the age of 70 years, and 8 days. In 1879 she was united in marriage in Germany to Mr. C. F. Bock, and the came to this country in the year, 1885. Seven children were born to this union, five of whom are left with the husband to mourn her loss. The children are: Chris A. J. Bock, Mrs. Frank Lahr of Harlan, Ia.; Mrs. H. A. McMartin of Fremont, Nebr., who took care of her mother during her last illness; Mrs. George Spitzen of Plass, N. D.; and George Bock of Allen, Nebr.; the latter was unable to attend the last service on account of sickness, Mary Bock, who died in 1907; and Josephine, who died in infancy and one brother, George Clausen of Jasper, Minn., twelve grand-children also survive.
