Arley Ellingson officiated with burial at Elgin Cemetery, Elgin, Iowa. Music was provided by Marilana Sutter, organist, and Arden Greener and Charles Wagner, duet. He was born April 7, 1955, in Postville, Iowa, son of Eugene and Crystal (Wenger) Schori. He graduated from Valley High School in 1973, and attended Ellsworth Community College and Iowa State University. He served in the US Army from August of 1974 to August of 1977. He was united in marriage to Sarah Leachman on October 4, 1986, in Des Moines. Two children were born to this union. Mike worked for the Valley Co-op for 21 years. For over three years he has been employed with Advanced Drainage Systems. Mike was very active in community service; presently serving as Mayor of Elgin, had been an Elgin councilman, has been a member of the Elgin Fire Department for 23 years and has been a long time member of the Elgin American Legion Post. He enjoyed bicycling, fishing, hunting, golfing, mushroom hunting and spending time with his family and friends. He died Tuesday morning, Nov. 27, 2001, at the Palmer Lutheran Health Center in West Union, following a sudden illness. Waukon Standard
