Description	:	Michael Jerome Haughian was born at Miles City, September 8, 1912, one of ten children - five sons and five daughters, of Daniel and Susan Haughian. He attended country schools through the eighth grade. From 1934 on, through the drought years, he was engaged in ranching on the family homestead. He herded sheep from the Blackfoot to west of Jordan with his brother and father, and later trailed cattle to the L O Ranch, south of Miles City, to Fort Peck Reservation, Angela, Sumatra, Ingomar and elsewhere in a ceaseless search for grass. Read More	Michael Jerome Haughian was born at Miles City, September 8, 1912, one of ten children - five sons and five daughters, of Daniel and Susan Haughian. He attended country schools through the eighth grade. From 1934 on, through the drought years, he was engaged in ranching on the family homestead. Mr Haughian and Betty Gibbs were married in Miles City, July 6, 1960. The same year the family acquired the Cap Rock Ranch, and there the Jerome Haughians made their home until his death. He was a member of the Terry Roping Club, the John Birch Society and the Farm Bureau. Mr Haughian, 76, died of cancer, October 16, 1988, in the home of his niece Pat Neiffer, in Miles City. Interment was in the Old Calvary Cemetery. Survivors include his wife; a son, Michael, of Cap Rock Road; two daughters, Ann (Mrs Jerry) Lund of Crow Rock Road and Eileen Haughian of Miles City; three brothers, Daniel of terry, Henry of Cap Rock Road and Alexander "Nander" of Custer SD; three sisters, Teresa Billing of Crow Rock Road, Susan (Mrs Ernie) Dent of Miles City and Kathleen Roos of Terry; and a granddaughter, Breanna Lund. He was preceded in death by a brother, Leo, and two sisters, Helen and Dorothy. --excerpts from The Terry Tribune 10-27-1988
