He was born March 28, 1945, to Joseph and Ella (Grosz) Overbay at Wenatchee. He grew up in Manson where he attended school, graduating from Manson High School in 1963. Overbay, 50, a lifelong resident of Chelan County, died Wednesday, July 26, 1995, in Colonial Vista Convalescent Center in Wenatchee following an extended illness. He was born March 28, 1945, to Joseph and Ella (Grosz) Overbay at Wenatchee. He grew up in Manson where he attended school, graduating from Manson High School in 1963. He then attended Wenatchee Valley College. Mr. Overbay then went to work for the Washington State Highway Department in Wenatchee. He married Laura P. Affeldt on Aug. 10, 1974, at East Wenatchee, and they made their home in Wenatchee. Mr. Overbay worked as a long-haul truck driver for various trucking companies in the Wenatchee area. He also worked part-time as a security guard at the Ardenvoir mill from 1980 to 1982, and at the Orchard Inn from 1982 to 1986. He retired in 1988 due to a disability. Mr. Overbay was a member of the Big W CB Radio Club and was an avid Ham radio operator. He was a former member of the Lake Chelan Lutheran Church and the Wenatchee Eagles Lodge. Survivors include his wife, at home; two sons, Kevin T. and Richard J., both of Wenatchee; his father, of Manson; a sister, Judith Brown of Wenatchee; and two granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his mother. Arrangements are by Jones and Jones Funeral Directors, Wenatchee.
