Sauser, occurred at the family residence in this city last Monday evening at 8 o’clock. Mr. Sauser was a man of vigorous constitution and lived to the ripe old age of 80 years. He was born in Alzingen, Luxemburg, March 11, 1815, and in 1846 was married to Miss Katherine Molitor at Eteringen. Read More	Cascade Pioneer, published in Cascade, Iowa on Friday, May 10th, 1895 The death of the venerable and respected citizen, Michael L. Sauser, occurred at the family residence in this city last Monday evening at 8 o’clock. Mr. Sauser was a man of vigorous constitution and lived to the ripe old age of 80 years. He was born in Alzingen, Luxemburg, March 11, 1815, and in 1846 was married to Miss Katherine Molitor at Eteringen. He came to the United States and directly to this section in 1850, and for forty-five years lived continuously in this county. He engaged in farming, both in Cascade and Whitewater Township, and with the thrift and industry characteristics of his countrymen, he accumulated a competency which sufficed to comfort his declining years, as since 1882, when he retired from his farm, he has lived here in Cascade contented and to all appearance bid fair to survive the storms of many more years, but was attacked by an insidious disease. He possessed great strength of character, and was honored for the simple uprightness of his life and now that he is dead the community feels the loss of a good and noble citizen. There survive him of his immediate family, his wife and four children, namely: Peter, Frank, Michael, and Mrs. Paul Becker, all residents of Cascade. His brother, Mat. and Peter, of Minnesota, and J. B. and John Sr., of Cascade, and their children, constituting the large Sauser family, are also left to mourn the death of their veteran kinsman. The funeral took place on Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock from the family residence to St. Mary’s Church, thence to the Catholic cemetery. The Rev. Father Zigrang, of Worthington officiated, and Rev. F. X. Feuerstein preached the funeral sermon.
