Read More	Holyoke Enterprise, Holyoke, Colorado, July 15, 1937 MICHAEL COATNEY CALLED BY DEATH Phillips County Pioneer Dies At Age Of 72; Was Born In Iowa Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Colver Funeral Home here for Michael Luther Coatney, aged 72, who died Monday at his home northeast of Holyoke. He had been in ill health for several years since he suffered a paralytic stroke. Rev. J.G. Bell, pastor of the Presbyterian church, officiated at the funeral, and burial was made in the Holyoke cemetery. Mr. Coatney was born March 22, 1865, at Centreville, Iowa, and came to Nebraska with his parents in 1879. After residing there for several years, he came to Phillips County, Colorado, where he homesteaded and made his home the remainder of his life. Mr. Coatney was the youngest of ten children, all of the others preceding him in death. He was married to Miss Emma Andrews in 1886. Surviving Mr. Coatney are two sons, Luther A. and Robert Bruce, four grandsons, and a large number of nieces and nephews. His wife died many years ago.
