Description	:	Boone Co Dem 13 May 1910 Michael McKenna, another of the well-known and esteemed pioneer residents of the county, passed away at his home northeast of the city at 12:15 o'clock Monday morning. He had been in poor health for several years and during the past winter failed rapidly. The funeral services were held from the Sacred Heart Church in this city at 11:00 o'clock Tuesday morning, conducted by the Rev Father Renier of Ames and attended by a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends. Read More	Boone Co Dem 13 May 1910 Michael McKenna, another of the well-known and esteemed pioneer residents of the county, passed away at his home northeast of the city at 12:15 o'clock Monday morning. He had been in poor health for several years and during the past winter failed rapidly. The funeral services were held from the Sacred Heart Church in this city at 11:00 o'clock Tuesday morning, conducted by the Rev Father Renier of Ames and attended by a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends. The remains were laid to rest in the Catholic Cemetery beside those of his wife who died four years ago. Mr. McKenna was born in Ireland and was in his seventy fifth year at the time of his death. When he was twenty three years old he came to America [1859] and settled at Peru, Illinois, where two years later he was united in marriage with Miss Margaret Fitzgerald. Shortly afterwards they came to Boone county, settled in Harrison township and have resided here since. He is survived by three children, Mrs. Anna Fitzgerald of Dodge Township, and M. F. and Miss Mary McKenna at home. The children have the sincere sympathy of a host of friends in their bereavement.
