Description	:	Mike Palu, one of Sherman County's pioneer citizens, passed away at his home in Loup City early Saturday morning, September 28. Mr. Palu has been in poor health for a number of years and sought specialists bur received very little relief. On the day he passed away it seems, he got up early that morning and went out doors. It was a severe... Read More	Mike Palu, one of Sherman County's pioneer citizens, passed away at his home in Loup City early Saturday morning, September 28. Mr. Palu has been in poor health for a number of years and sought specialists bur received very little relief. On the day he passed away it seems, he got up early that morning and went out doors. His wife later went out to see him and found him in a sort of dazed condition. Sher persuaded him to come into the home and while sitting on a chair, he fell forward and passed away. It was a severe shock to his family to pass thus without warning. Mr. Palu was born in Poland 74 years ago and came to America settling in the north west part of Sherman County on Davis Creek. He came to this country in about 1876 as he was a resident of the county 53 years. He was a hard working man and in the early days operated a a threshing machine and the east part of the county all knew Mike Palu. He leaves to mourn his death his beloved wife and eleven children, as follows: Helen Zaruba, Louie Henry, Walter, Effie Slominski, Frank, John, Theresa Goc, Nellie Keilbasa, Joe and Edward, besides many grand children and a host of friends. The funeral services were held from St. Josaphat's Catholic church in charge of Rev. Father Alexander and the remains were laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery.
