Description	:	Michael P. Garland died at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Garland, northeast of the city, on Sunday morning at 1:15 o'clock. Death was due to tuberculosis and the deceased had been in poor health for the past year. Michael Garland was born in Greene County, Iowa, December 29, 1884, and at the time of his death was twenty two years one month and twelve days of age. Garland died at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Garland, northeast of the city, on Sunday morning at 1:15 o'clock. Death was due to tuberculosis and the deceased had been in poor health for the past year. Michael Garland was born in Greene County, Iowa, December 29, 1884, and at the time of his death was twenty two years one month and twelve days of age. To mourn his death are the grief stricken father and mother and one brother and five sisters as follows: Dennis, Mrs. Mary Baldus of Story City, Sarah, Loretta, Emma and Annie. The funeral was held Monday forenoon at 9:00 o'clock from the family residence and taken to St. Peter's church three miles east of Mackey, where requiem high mass was celebrated by Rev. Father Renier. The funeral was largely attended. The remains were laid to rest in the cemetery at St. Peter's. Six first cousins of the deceased acted as pall bearers. Their names are: Isadore, Edward, Henry and Gregory McCoy, Michael Jordan and Leo Miller. Those who attended the funeral from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Peter Garland, uncle and aunt, Peter Garland and Hugh Cannon all of Jamaica, Iowa. The deceased was in the prime of young manhood when the dread disease took him away. An honest, industrious boy his death is deeply regretted by a wide circle of friends.
