Read More	There are approximately 13 rows of graves in the cemetery; this monument is located in the third row from the church. ******************************************************* DEATH OF MICHAEL QUILLIN - OBITUARY - 1919 Michael Quillin, whose serious illness with heart trouble we mentioned two weeks ago, passed away at 1 a.m. Thanksgiving morning at his home in Hanover township. He was born in County Cavin, Ireland, Oct. 8, 1844, and came to this country with his parents when he was six years old. They lived in Dubuque until 1857, when they came to this country, settling first in Iowa township, moving later to the place in Hanover where he spent the rest of his life. He was married to Rose Ann McGuinness April 28, 1867. To them were born thirteen children, one son, Frank, died seventeen years ago. He is survived by his widow and the following sons and daughters: P. J. Quillin; Mrs. Fred Hancock; Mrs. M. Sweeney of Makee twp; Joe and Tom of Brownsville, Minn.; Edward and Mrs. Ed Collins, New Albin; Mrs. Albert Liddiard, of Union Prairie; John of Harpers Ferry, Wm. of Davenport; Leonard and Celia at home; all whom were at the funeral. There are also about twenty-five grandchildren, six of whom acted as pallbearers. He is also survived by two brothers, Thomas of Avoca, Minn., John of Kimball, S.D., and sister, Mrs. Mary Fitzgerald of Fonda, Iowa. The deceased was one of the hard working pioneers who opened up this county and made of it one of the best farming communities in one of the best farming states of the Union. His word was as good as his bond. He raised a splendid family and was always a loyal friend and neighbor. The writer has valued his friendship for nearly forty years and joins the family and friends mouring his death. The funeral took place Saturday morning and was largely attended. Requiem High Mass was celebrated at the Hanover church by Rev. Father Reynolds, assissed by Rev. Fathers Ruache of Waukon and McNamara of Lycurgus, Burial taking place there. Note: Michael Quillin originally was born in September, 1840. He was born on October 8, 1844.
