Michael “Mike” Eggers was born July 26, 1948, at Omaha, Nebraska to George and Gert (Regan) Eggers. He was baptized at St. Cecilia’s Cathedral. Mike attended grade school at St. Cecilia’s and then spent two years at St. John’s Seminary in Elkhorn, Nebraska. He graduated from Cathedral High School in 1966. Mike later graduated from University of Nebraska at Omaha in 1972, with a degree in business administration. In 1973, Mike began his career as an insurance adjuster with General Adjustment Bureau in North Platte, Nebraska. He was transferred to Norfolk, Nebraska in 1974. Mike later worked for Allied Insurance for 24 years until he retired in 2010. Mike worked tornado, hurricane, flood, fire, wind, and hail claims all over the country. Mike married Sherry Ann Hanning in 1984, at Norfolk. They lived in Phoenix, Arizona for a time until returning home in 1986. Mike enjoyed golfing, fishing, shooting, and cooking. He always enjoyed a good party! He was a wonderful husband and lover. (He wrote this part himself!) Survivors include his wife, Sherry; brother, Tony (Carol) Eggers of Vancouver, Washington; and sisters, Mary (Dan) Kaiser of Omaha, Nebraska and Susan Zeigler of Phoenix, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his mother and father.
