Elmer Wenzel officiating. Winter died suddenly on Thursday, June 22. Interment was made at the Odessa cemetery. Pallbearers were August Sackmann, Herbert Steffen, Ernest Hardt, Bill Ferderer, Walter Tanke and Walter Scheller. Winter was born in Russia July 7, 1887. He came to the United States when he was a young man and spent most of life farming in the Odessa area. He retired to a home in Odessa in 1951. He was married to Zelemia Bohnet on Sept. 10, 1916. She preceded him in death in April 1942. Surviving are three sons, Albert, Walter and Arthur, all of Odessa; four daughters, Mrs. John Greenwalt of Odessa, Mrs. Arthur Leisle of Ritzville, Mrs. Clarence Fode of Lind and Mrs. Robert Schafer of Spokane; and 19 grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Dan of Stanford, Mont., Wilhelm of Wisconsin, and Ferdenand of Germany; and a sister in Austria.
