On Monday, the 2d inst., at 12 p.m., occurred the death of Michael Wireman, at his home in the southeastern corner of Liberty township. Mr. Wireman was one of the oldest settlers left in this county. He came to the south part of the county in 1838, and has lived in that neighborhood ever since. Born in Perry County, Penn., in 1818, and was almost 71 years of age.....A good citizen and neighbor; he has always been an industrious, hard-working and honest man.....He came here without anything, and his life is an example of what honest industry may accomplish. Leaves wife and five children, all grown and all residents of this county. The death of the father is the first death in the family for thirty-six years. Deceased was buried in the cemetery at the Roth schoolhouse, south of this city, on Wednesday following his death. He was a member of the Presbyterian church of Birmingham. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Wiggins, the pastor of that church, and were largely attended by old neighbors and friends.
