Read More	Mildred Miller was born March 28, 1926 in Reno County, Kansas near Sterling to John B. and Anna Louise (Alber) Albrecht, the oldest of two children and passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Ridgewood Care Center in Seward at the age of 90 years 4 months and 2 days. As a young girl she attended school in Sterling and was an active member of a country Mennonite Church. In 1943, Mildred moved with her family to the Beaver Crossing area where she graduated with the Class of 1945 and received her Normal Teaching Certificate. Mildred then taught country school southwest of Milford. On August 15, 1948, Mildred was united in marriage to Charles W. Miller and to this union a daughter, Connie, and two sons, Tim and Tom, were born. They lived all their married life on the Albrecht family farm northwest of Beaver Crossing before moving into town in 1999. In 1997, a tragic car accident took the life of her son, Tom. Mildred was a busy mother and helpmate to Charlie on the farm. Her first passion was driving the tractors and trucks to help with the various farming chores. In her spare time, Mildred raised a large garden, canning and freezing the bounty for her family. She also raised and dressed several hundred chickens each year for a regular clientele who returned year after year for her $3 dressed and ready for the pan chickens. Mildred enjoyed crafts of all kinds, painting, quilting, and doing beaded artwork. She was a Tri-Chem dealer and enjoyed teaching and working with her customers. Mildred especially liked the time when she could be at the state fair, promoting Tri-Chem, showing her crafts and selling her completed work. After her grandchildren were born, they became the love of her life. She enjoyed following all their activities, school, sports and whatever they were involved in. Mildred attended the United Missionary Church at Milford where she taught Sunday School. For more than 30 years she always played the piano for church services, in duet with Letha Rardin, the church organist. She was a member of the Sky’s The Limit homemakers club and the Kensington card club. Mildred was active with the extension service, serving on the State Board. She drove a school bus for Beaver Crossing School and later for Centennial Public School for 20 years. For a number of years she served as the sextant for the Beaver Crossing Cemetery. Mildred is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Cheri Miller; grandchildren, Kimberly Rivas, Derek Miller, Coral Miller; son-in-law, Les Rawlings; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Marian and Bill Owen, Doris Liakas, John and Lois Miller, Lonnie Miller, Bill Larsen, Donna Miller; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Charles on June 30, 2016; daughter, Connie, in 1987; son, Tom, in 1997; brother, John Albrecht; sister-in-law, Arlene Larsen; brothers-in-law, Donald Miller and Tom Liakas. Funeral Service on August 3, 2016, at the United Methodist Church, Beaver Crossing, Interment will be in the Beaver Crossing Cemetery. Obituary information from Lauber Moore Funeral Home.
