She attended St. Bonaventure Catholic school in Columbus up until approximately 1922. She studied at old St. Joseph's Hospital in Omaha, NE and worked as a practical nurse for many years. She owned/operated a beauty parlor in Scribner in the old hospital which has since been razed. She moved to Fremont in her later years and lived at the Towers on 23rd St near the hospital.
