Read More	Mildred Brown, age 94, of Boone and the Eastern Star Masonic Home, died at the Home on September 25, 2015. Mildred Arlene Brown was born in Huxley, Iowa, on May 2, 1921, the daughter of Burney and Clara (Lee) Tweedt. She grew up on a farm and attended school in Huxley. Mildred met Richard Brown in Ames and they were married in Ames on January 15, 1949. The family moved to Boone in 1958. Mildred was a homemaker and enjoyed reading, especially Norwegian history books, baking, playing games, and raising her family. She was a member of the Church of the Sacred Heart, the Altar Society, and served as a Eucharistic Minister. Mildred is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, Steve and Philip, four brothers, Kenneth, Norman, Donald, and Burnie Tweedt, two sisters, Gladys Barnes and Beulah Allen, three grandchildren, Katie and Tommy Bosch, and Marisa Brown. She is survived by four sons, Charlie (Susan) Brown of Des Moines, David (Judy) Brown of Ames, Mark Brown of Boone, and Dan Brown of Colorado Springs, Colorado; two daughters, Gloria (Dave) Jay of Boone, and Mary (Bob) Bosch of Indianola; two daughters-in-law Pam Brown of Boone and Lisa Brown of Moreno Valley, California; a brother Clare (Carolyn) Tweedt of Ames; two sisters Frances Olson and Wilma Shirey, both of Houston, Texas; 18 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
