Description	:	Mildred B. Brinkmeyer, 94, formerly of Chanute, Kansas, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2003 at the Grove Nursing Center, Grove, Oklahoma. Mildred was born July 18, 1908, in Chanute, Kansas, the daughter of John Jordan and Estella (Howell) Jordan. She grew up and attended schools in Chanute and graduated from Chanute High School. Mildred was united in marriage to Cecil V. Brinkmeyer on June 6, 1928 in Chanute. In 1933 they moved to Humboldt, Kansas where they owned and operated the Self Service Grocery. Brinkmeyer, 94, formerly of Chanute, Kansas, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2003 at the Grove Nursing Center, Grove, Oklahoma. Mildred was born July 18, 1908, in Chanute, Kansas, the daughter of John Jordan and Estella (Howell) Jordan. She grew up and attended schools in Chanute and graduated from Chanute High School. Mildred was united in marriage to Cecil V. Brinkmeyer on June 6, 1928 in Chanute. In 1933 they moved to Humboldt, Kansas where they owned and operated the Self Service Grocery. In 1956 they moved back to Chanute where they were associated with Clara Graham in the operation of Self Service Wholesale Grocery until their retirement. Mildred was a member of the Presbyterian Church,past elder, and a former member of the Neosho Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Mildred is survived by one son Baird and daughter-in-law JoAnn Brinkmeyer of Grove, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Barbara, Brenda, David, and Beth;five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Cokely of California and Frances Hodge of Texas; and two brothers, John Jordan of Colorado and Dean Jordan of Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her husband Cecil; her parents; and three brothers, Raymond, Harold and Frank. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday. February 5, 2003, at the First Presbyterian Church in Chanute, with Reverend Shelly Holle officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery on East Fourteenth Street. Friends may call from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and again from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Gibson-Koch-Friskel Chapel. Memorial contributions may be in her memory to the First Presbyterian Church. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Gibson-Koch-Friskel Chapel.
