Her pastor, Rev. Jacobson, was in charge of the service assisted by Rev. Buland. Walter Christopher brought the message in song, singing "Nearer Yet Nearer" and "Does Jesus Care?" with Mrs. Jacobson as organist. Pallbearers were Donald Wee, Orland Fjelland, Hubert Johnson, Herbert Hill, Leroy Dobbe, and Clarence Nass. The floral offerings were many and beautiful, and many offerings were contributed to the mission in her memory. She was buried in the Palestine Cemetery. The following obituary was read at the church. Mildred Beatrice Wee, daughter of Bennie and Maude Wee, was born near Ankeny, Iowa, Oct. 24, 1921. She passed away at her home Sunday evening, Oct. 21, at 9 o'clock at the age of 23 years, 11 months, 27 days. She was baptized and confirmed by Pastor Buland at the Palestine church. At the age of a year and a half she moved with her parents to the vicinity of Cambridge, or what is known as the White Oak community, where they resided for 19 years. Here she attended White Oak School. In 1941 the family moved on a farm near Cambridge where she spend the remainder of her life. For two years and 9 months she was employed at the Des Moines Ordnance Plant. Mildred leaves to cherish her memory, her father and mother, four sisters, Jean, Nelma, Norma and Audrey, and two brothers, Lowell of the U.S. Navy stationed at Norman, Okla., and Raymond at home. Also a host of relatives and friends. For some time she had been ill and the last six weeks she had been bedfast. On Sunday evening, Oct. 21st, her condition became critical. Those attending the funeral from a distance were Lowell Wee of Norman, Oklahoma, John Richardson of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. A. O. Richardson, Mr. and Mrs. John Van Hull and Ms. Martin Toft of Sioux Falls, S. Dak., Mrs. George Wood, Bert Wood, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Wood, all of Eagle Grove, and Anfin Richardson of Altoona.
