Description	:	Mildred Bergjlot Skonnord Loftheim Romig, 97, of Williamsburg, died April 26, 2008, at Woodhaven House, Williamsburg Landing, Williamsburg, Va. The daughter of Olaf and Bergina Skonnord, she was born on Meadow Creek Farm, outside Valley City, N.D., in 1910. After graduating from Concordia College in 1931, she taught in Sheldon and Sheyenne, N.D., Kirby JHS in Hazelwood, Mo., James Blair High School in Williamsburg, Va., and The English-American School in La Paz, Bolivia. Read More	Mildred Bergjlot Skonnord Loftheim Romig, 97, of Williamsburg, died April 26, 2008, at Woodhaven House, Williamsburg Landing, Williamsburg, Va. The daughter of Olaf and Bergina Skonnord, she was born on Meadow Creek Farm, outside Valley City, N.D., in 1910. After graduating from Concordia College in 1931, she taught in Sheldon and Sheyenne, N.D., Kirby JHS in Hazelwood, Mo., James Blair High School in Williamsburg, Va., and The English-American School in La Paz, Bolivia. In 1943, she married Kaare John Loftheim. His career took them to Williamsburg and St. Louis, Mo. Mr. Loftheim died in 1967. She married Wayne Senif Romig in 1973 and they retired to Sun City, Ariz., where she enjoyed bridge, silversmithing, lapidary, reading, exploring the Southwest, and volunteering at the Sun Health Rehabilitation Center. An avid explorer, she was part of an exploratory expedition up the Amazon in 1938. Her travels took her to six continents and continued into her 90's. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Melville Skonnord; her sister, Charlotte Skonnord Thompson; and her husbands, Kaare and Wayne. She is survived by her daughter, Marget Charlotte Loftheim Bradenham (Robert) of Williamsburg; son, Kaare John Loftheim (Melody) of Williamsburg; and daughter, Karen Skonnord Loftheim Utt (Robert) of St. Charles, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Robert and John Bradenham; Joshua, Samuel, and Stephen Loftheim; Anja Loftheim Howard; Kaare and Brennan Utt; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. The family wishes to express their gratitude to all family and friends, especially the skilled care staff at Williamsburg Landing. A family memorial service was held at Bruton Parish Church and a Service of Committal will be held at Grandfield Lutheran Cemetery in Sheyenne, N.D., at a later date.
