Description	:	Mildred Blanche Schultz was born on July 18, 1909 to William Alexander and Mary Ethel (Travis) Sawhill in Madison County, Iowa. Mildred graduated from Truro High School. She attended Iowa State Teachers Colleges at Cedar Falls and Shenandoah and taught eleven years – the last four at Prairie Grove School where her children attended. Read More	Mildred Blanche Schultz was born on July 18, 1909 to William Alexander and Mary Ethel (Travis) Sawhill in Madison County, Iowa. Mildred graduated from Truro High School. She attended Iowa State Teachers Colleges at Cedar Falls and Shenandoah and taught eleven years – the last four at Prairie Grove School where her children attended. She loved children and easily made friends with them. A Clarke County resident the majority of her life, Mildred was united in marriage to Earl Fredrick Schultz on February 25, 1934 in New Virginia. They moved to the farm in 1936. Mildred lived life to the fullest, always doing for others. Her hobby was raising flowers of all kinds, and she even knew the Latin name of each. Every Sunday for many years, the altar at church was graced by her beautiful bouquets. She taught Sunday school and was church organist and choir director until she was unable to continue. She was pianist for the Gospel Rambler quartet and traveled with them from Kansas City to the State Fair for singing engagements. Mildred was 4-H leader for a number of years. She was a member of O.E.S. at Truro where she had served as Worthy Matron and belonged to Oak Run Community Circle. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Laverne Schultz; sisters, Berneice Phillips and Ardis Whitfield; and brother, Verle Sawhill. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Harry) Sackett of Stuart; son, Eldon (Sandra) Schultz of Truro; sister, Vesta Batten of Carlisle; seven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and ten great, great grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends.
